I have been reviewing the webpage “27 Natural Health and Nutrition Tips That Are Evidence-Based” for the past few months, that is when I’m not chasing a mental or spiritual health rabbit hole. We are on #16, “use Extra Virgin Olive Oil,” which I highly agree with, but do you know why it’s so good for you?
It’s the fact that it contains oleic oil which is the primary component of it’s fat content. Oleic oil is a monounsaturated fat. Monounsaturated fats not only lube up the areas we need lubed, but they help lower bad cholesterol. You need about 2 tablespoons of healthy fat in your diet each day. Most of Olive Oil’s great qualities are related to the oleic oil, including it’s antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties. It also contains Vitamin E and K, and can help prevent Alzheimer’s and Diabetes.
Some other healthy oils and foods that are high in monounsaterated fats are; avocados, peanuts, canola, safflower, sesame seeds, and almonds.
