The Dragon Lady's Journey

Sorry about the lateness of the posts recently, with the pain of the fracture my sleep is disrupted. The good news is that surgery is scheduled for Wednesday 10/30/24. I am now in a new brace that is smaller and less restrictive, however, my pain has increased while I get used to it.
Today, I would like to post on friends and service work. Since my fall a week ago I have yet to go without my needs being met. I have had friends and acquaintances stepping up from everywhere. I have a dear acquaintance who has quickly become a friend who comes over every morning around 6 am to feed and take care of my dogs. I have another friend that I had somewhat lost contact with who comes over in the afternoon to give them a walk. The neighborhood girl, I should say a young woman now as she is in her 30s, who practically grew up here has been irreplaceable. She comes over daily to help with everything, in fact, she is bathing the dogs right now. The friends that have ferried me to doctor appointments and meetings. My dearest mentee came over and helped me get a shower (that was true heaven). The friends and acquaintances that have signed up to bring me food. My heart is bursting at the friendship and help I have received. I have always strived to be a good friend, and now I am reaping the benefits. Thank you to all who have reached out, and thank you for all the prayers. Just know that in the future I will continue to strive to follow in your lead.
